How we score an audit
Last updated
A first-hand description of how an Outerview audit is put together: nine domains scored from public evidence, benchmarked against up to ten competitors.
How scoring works
Each of the nine domains is scored 0 to 100 from public evidence. Component weights are fixed; we do not retune them for a given client. The overall score uses a predefined profile for the kind of business, not a one-off judgement.
Nine domains
Brand Health
Is your value proposition clear in 5 seconds? How do your website, messaging and visual identity stack up?
Technical Performance
Site speed, mobile experience, security posture, email authentication. The foundations everything else sits on.
Search & AI Visibility
Where you rank in Google, and whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews even know you exist.
Content & Authority
Are you the voice of your industry, or silent while competitors build authority? Publishing quality, gaps and strategy.
Customer Acquisition
How well you bring in new customers across observable channels: paid, organic, content, referral. Active motion, measurement, conversion paths, channel-mix fit.
Market Position
How your pricing, features and positioning compare. Where you lead, where you trail, and where the gaps are.
Business Health
Hiring signals, team structure, leadership profiles. What the market can see about your growth and operational maturity.
Reputation & Trust
Google Reviews, Glassdoor, social proof, media mentions. The public perception that shapes buying decisions before anyone contacts you.
Compliance
Privacy policies, accessibility, cookie consent, regulatory compliance. The legal and reputational risks hiding in plain sight.
Public data only
We use information that is already public: websites, search results, reviews, filings, and other sources a customer or competitor can already see. We do not log in to your systems, CRM, analytics, or anything behind a wall.
Competitor set
We identify, profile, and rank up to ten competitors, then compare you head to head across the nine domains.
Delivery clock
The report is delivered within 24 hours of payment. The clock does not start when you submit the order form; it starts when the invoice is paid.
Technology
We sell you reporting on how AI sees your business, so it is only natural that we lean on the same technology. To achieve this research depth inside the delivery window, AI is heavily leveraged: Outerview is a suite of automations orchestrating dozens of domain-specialist agents built on frontier AI models. Purpose-built agents gather evidence from each public surface, separate analyst agents score each domain against the fixed definitions above, and automated quality gates check citations and score arithmetic before the report is assembled. A founder reviews every report before delivery.
Corrections
If a specific finding is factually wrong, the corrections process is how we review it against the source data.
Every audit is built this way, including the published sample.
